He has been felicitated with a “Ganesh Kireeta” “Ganesh Crown” symbolising the traditional art form “Yakshagana” of Uttara Kannada District. All the six candidates of the district presented a silver “Cow and Calf” artifact and ‘Shree Idagunji Ganesha’ plaque and a ‘Rudraksha’ Garland by Gokarn Purohits.
Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines Pralhad Joshi, Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, District In-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Minister of Labour Shivaram Hebbar, MLCs Shantaram Siddi and Ganapati Ulvekar, Karwar MLA Roopali Naik, Kumta MLA Dinakar Shetty, Bhatkal MLA Sunil Naik, Candidate of Haliyal constituency Sunil Hegde and other BJP office bearers were present.
Before, entering the Pandal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met two remarkable Padma awardees, Tulsi Gowda and Sukri Bomma Gowda of Ankola Taluk. He took the time to interact with the inspiring women and seek their blessings before addressing a public gathering.
Tulsi Gowda and Sukri Bomma Gowda, in turn, showed their deep respect for the Prime Minister, with one of them even giving him a warm hug.
Tulsi Gowda, an environmentalist was awarded the Padma Shri in 2021 and Sukri Bomma Gowda was awarded the country’s third-highest Padma Shri in 2017 for folk singing.
