Take steps to distribute new Ration Cards and 5 kg Rice under Annabhagya Scheme – DC Gangubai Mankar

Karwar : Deputy Commissioner Gangubai Mankar directed the Food Department officials to review the applications already submitted for ration cards in the district and take steps to distribute new ration cards to the eligible households.
She was presiding over the progress review meeting of the Food Department held at the DC’s office here on Friday. She directed to review all the ration cards in the district and cancel the ineligible ration cards and distribute the ration cards to the eligible households and she directed to initiate action to distribute 5 kg rice or equivalent amount under Annabhagya Scheme. She further said that appropriate steps should be taken to check the eligible ration cards whether cash is paid through DBT in lieu of extra rice. The lead bank manager has been requested to monitor with the concerned banks where the amount is not transfered due to NPCI failure.
