26,983 cases settled in Fourth Lok Adalat held in Karwar amounting to Rs.30.83 Cr.

Karwar : As per the directions of Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Bengaluru, Fourth Lok Adalt has been held in Karwar and other 30 Law Benches in Uttara Kannada District.
Addressing a Press Meet, Senior Civil Judge and Member Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Renuka D Raikar informed that in all 22,393 pre-litigation cases and 4590 pending cases have been resolved totalling to 26,983 cases involving settlement amount of Rs.30,82,92,295 Cr.
Settled Cases are as under:
Compromisable Cases – 45 amount Rs.7,73,000/-, Cheque Bounce cases – 409 mount Rs.7,50,69,299/-, Bank Cases – 109 amount Rs.1,13,49,048/-, Labour disputes Cases – 674 amount Rs.3,56,61,946/-, Matrimonial disputes – 3 amount Rs.NIL, Other Criminal cases – 24402 amount Rs.1,94,23,467 /- , Motor Vehicle cases – 55 amount Rs.1,61,44,650/-, Electricity, Water and other bills – 345 amount Rs.7,96,932/-, Land Acquisition cases – 30 amount Rs.2,78,60,226/-, Revenue cases – 557 amount Rs.4,78,000/-, other civil cases – 354 amount Rs.12,07,35,727/-.
The authority further added that a large number of recovery matters related to financial institutions, banks, government bodies were settled.
