DC Mulai Muhilan appeals to follow COVID guidelines at Religious and Tourism places

Karwar : In Uttara Kannada district COVID infected cases are increasing in recent days. In this background Temples/Religious places, Marriage functions, Tourism centres, and beaches including all crowded places will be monitored very closely and to confirm whether COVID-19 guidelines are followed scrupulously. Tahsildars, Executive officers (EOs) and Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs) including police officials should make appropriate verifications in this regard, informed DC Mulai Muhilan MP.
Speaking to the media persons through Google Meet recently Muhilan said that in order to control COVID infection effectively, a few tough actions have been initiated. All Temples and religious places in the district, permission will not be granted for mass poojas in temples, mass Namaz in Mosques and mass services in Churches. In such places COVID guidelines should be followed compulsorily.

It is the responsibility of the managing committee to ensure. Further, in temples/religious places sanitization should be made compulsorily at least once in a day. For Marriage functions only 50 persons are allowed. They have to obtain prior permission from the concerned Tahsildars compulsorily. Concerned taluka executive officers, PDOs and various local officials in the towns have to get confirmation whether the COVID guidelines are followed in marriage functions. Details of persons attending marriages viz; names, addresses and mobile numbers should be collected in the interest of the public. In any marriage function persons attending are from Uttara Kannada district, they should be asked to get their COVID test two days before the function.
A close watch will be kept on persons coming from other districts and their names and mobile numbers will be registered in the concerned office. In border areas of the district and in Railway Stations the passengers who are coming from other states will be monitored very closely.
Especially the tourists who are coming from Kerala and Maharashtra, though they have taken vaccination or not, they have to compulsorily produce Negative RTPCR certificate dated not later than 72 hours.
In Tourist centres/beaches COVID guidelines should be followed very strictly. In order to monitor and confirmation, two police constables will be deployed in every tourist centre. Apart from this, concerned Police Circle Inspectors have been given responsibility to monitor whether COVID COVID guidelines are followed in their jurisdiction.
General Public of the district are appealed to follow COVID appropriate behavior such as wearing of mask and keeping social distancing etc. DC once again appealed to the public to cooperate in controlling spreading of COVID.
If there is any change in health condition, people should immediately visit the nearest health centre and get their health checked.
If anyone violates COVID guidelines and orders promulgated by Government and District Administration, action will be taken against them as per section 51 and 60 of Disaster Management Act-2005, Indian Penal Code section 188 and also section 4, 5 and 10 of The Epidemic Diseases (Amendment) Act, 2020, DC Muhilan added.
