Bengaluru: The Karnataka government on Tuesday transferred IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri and IPS officer D. Roopa Moudgil without postings after a fight on social media over sharing private photos. D Roopa’s IAS husband Munish Moudgil has also been transferred. Earlier too, both women had indulged in a public spat, and had been involved in controversies separately too in their official capacities. The issue this time began with Roopa taking to social media alleging several “wrongdoings” of Sindhuri. She also made personal remarks, accusing Sindhuri of misconduct and released personal pictures of her alleging that it was shared by her with a few male officers.

Bengaluru: A 25-minute purported audio of IPS officer D Roopa Moudgil with RTI activist Gangadhar has gone viral. In the audio, the IPS officer could be reportedly heard accuing IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri of indulging in illegal acts and called her house breaker.
The audio clip went viral on Wednesday morning containing conversation between an RTI activist Gangadhar and D Roopa. The IPS officer foul mouthed the IAS Sindhuri alleging misuse of her official position. The audio clip has gone vial on social media.
In the audio, the IPS officer was reportedly heard saying Rohini Sindhuri’s husband deals in real estate. “She (Sindhuri) has collected land related information from land records office where my husband works. I will also tell you (RTI activist) that you have cooperated in this and have made money. That’s all I can say. Get out,” IPS Roopa reportedly said in the audio.
D Roopa alleged that Rohini Sindhuri had used her husband to carry out a land deal. She also allegedly said that her family is facing trouble because of Rohini Sindhuri. Roopa said she is like cancer and will influence anyone.
IPS D Roopa has alleged corrupt practices by Rohini Sindhuri, a charge denied by her. Sindhuri alleged that Roopa was making such comments against her out of personal rivalry. The IAS officer said Roopa was behaving as if she had lost her mental balance.
The two officer have accused each other of violating the Civil Services Conduct rules. The IAS officer has even threatened D Roopa of legal and other actions with appropriate authorities.
Referring to their exchanges, Jnanendra said that people look up to IAS and IPS officers. But their conduct was causing disrespect and humiliation to civil services officers, he said.
“We are not sitting quietly. Action will be taken against them. They both are behaving in such a bad way that not even normal people speak on the streets. Let them do whatever on their issues, but behaving this way in front of the media is not right,” the home minister said, adding that he has spoken to the DG (Director General of Police) and will be speaking to the CS. The chief minister is also aware of it, he added.
Meanwhile, chief secretary (CS) Vandita Sharma summoned both officers and sought an explanation on Monday.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Jnanendra said the government would pursue action against both officials.
The BJP MLC A H Vishwanath askedwhethered the government had empowered IAS officer Captain P Manivannan to settle cases through mediation. Vishwanath was referring to Roopa’s purported allegation in the tape that Manivannan was an intermediary in an out-of-court settlement related to cases filed by JD(S) MLA Sa Ra Mahesh against IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri.
It is said that the Audio tape has taken a new turn to the public spat.
