District In-Charge Minister Shivaram Hebbar announces COVID Relief for construction workers, barbers and washermen

Karwar : Minister of Labour and District In-charge Minister Shivaram Hebbar announced that under the
social welfare and development program and under the Labour Ministry programs, construction workers, barbers and washermen who were badly hit during COVID-19 Pandemic, a relief amount Rs.5000/- has been directly credited to their bank accounts. The total relief paid to 27,298 Construction worker beneficiaies in Uttara Kannada district amounts to Rs.13,64,90,000/- and relief paid to 1450 barbers and washermen beneficiaries amounts to Rs.72,50,000/- Hebbar said.
For the education of Construction workers children and their dependents Rs.2,90,63,540/- has been sanctioned for 5288 construction workers, in which 267 beneficiaries will be paid Rs.86,00,000 as financial assistance for their daugters’ Wedding.
In addition to the monetary benefits, the construction workers children have been provided with Computers, Laptops and School Study Kits. The package also includes issuing of free passes to the school going children of construction workers, Hebbar added.
