It is need-of-the-hour to understand the situation of the poor and backward classes – Kota Shrinivas Poojary

Kumta : 20,000 Beneficiaries have been distributed with cheques for various facilities and starting new projects for the beneficiaries in the district here on Friday.
Kota Shrinivas Poojari, the Minister of Social Welfare, Backward Classes Welfare and District In-charge Minister speaking after distribution of cheques to the beneficiaries said that it is the need of the hour to understand the situation of the poor and backward classes and work.

Cheques distributed to 20,000 beneficiaries
to start various projects in the district

Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said that Rs.168 crores to 1,68,000 beneficiaries of the state through Kisan Samman Yojana without application from the central government have been paid. Rs. 6000 and Rs 4000 has been deposited in their account by the state government, which is a Innovative Scheme, he said.
Further 13,000 families have been provided with electricity under the ‘Belaku’ Scheme. He said that they have given grants for the education of all the poor children through the Raitha Nidhi Yojana so that the poor children will be helped to get higher education. He said that we have provided facilities to construct 3000 thousand toilets in the district and there is no doubt that the district will become an open defecation free district in the near future, he added.

“We are allocating 2000 houses to the homeless in the district”. He said that the government is trying to provide government facilities to the pooresr among the poorer people of the society. 28000 Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe beneficiaries of the State have been provided with two-wheeler with a subsidy of Rs 50,000/- which will help unemployed youths to take up self-employment, Poojary added.
