Karwar : Congress Party workers staged demonstration at M/s. V R Haldipur Petrol Pump near Subhash Circle shouted slogans against Modi government and displayed placards with a title “100 Not Out” here recently.
Party’s National leader and MLC B K Hariprasad said that Congress party workers are protesting at petrol pumps across the country on Friday against the rising fuel price that has crossed the ₹100-mark
Addressing the protesters B K Hariprasad condemned the failure of Modi led central government to control prices of Petrol, Diesel and Cooking gas. As per the directions of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi nationwide protests are being held every were, he said. In Karnataka State all taluka level and district level protests are being held. In Karwar under the leadership of District President Bhimanna Naik and former MLA Satish Sail protests are being held, he added.
We strongly condemn that ever since PM Modi’s government was at the helm of affairs of our country from 2014 to 2021 Petrol price has been hiked. Due to the pandemic the general public are already overburdened with financial crises. Prices of all essential commodities and vegetables have gone up due to rice in Petrol and Diesel prices. Therefore, we protesting on behalf of the public, he added.
Congress District president Bhimanna Naik and former MLA Satish Sail also addressed the protesters.
