Karwar : MP Anantkumar Hegde directed IRB officials to submit reports to the Deputy Commissioner regarding stoppage of work on National Highway 66.
On Saturday Anantkumar Hegde conducted a meeting at DC’s Court Hall along with MLAs Roopali Naik, Dinakar Shetty and Sunil Naik and officials of IRB. MP said that for the last two years IRB has been giving several reasons for the stoppage of work in some stretches on NH 66. All Such works should be drawn together and if any administrative assistance was needed , they may take advice from the District Administration and start the work immediately, he added.
Anantkumar verified the Blue Print of Honnavar Port Bypass road and directed the National Highway Authority officials to set right the lacuna with the help of District Administration.
Bhatkal MLA Sunil Naik pointed out that 40 Bore wells have spoiled due to Highway work. The households in those areas were facing water problem. In view of this IRB should make alternative arrangements for digging new Bore wells.
Kumta-Honnavar MLA Dinakar Shetty demanded for streetlights in the town area where National Highway is passing. Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan M P, Superintendent of Police Shivprakash Devaraju, ZP CEO Priyanga M, Karwar Assistant Commissioner Vidyashree Chadargi and other officials were present in the meeting.
