Karwar : The MLA Model School of Karwar, formerly called as Karwar Government School has been demolished and a New School Complex is coming up within a year.
‘Karwar Mirror’ has been highlighting this issue that the school building was the oldest building in Karwar which was completely dilapidated. Nearly 90 underprivileged students were studying in this school. Since it was tile roofed, during rainy season it was very difficult to take classes.
Now, MLA Roopali Naik brought funds and the existing tiled structure of the Primary School, Guru Bhavan and the Rehabilitation Centre for physically and mentally challenged children have been demolished and a huge school comlex will come up to house all these structures.
Since, the schools are reopening on May 29, the teachers are worried as to where to accommodate 90 children as rains will start from June 7.
