Karwar : Great Backyard Bird count India is the Indian implementation of the global Great Backyard Bird Count, which runs for 4 days every in February. Indian birders have participated in the GBBC since the event went worldwide in 2013. On the occasion of Great Backyard Bird Count, Department of Zoology and Eco Club of Govt Arts and Science College, Karwar conducted Campus bird count in the campus where it was seen a very good display of nature in the campus, birding was done for around 2 hours from 8.00 AM to 10.00 AM on 18.02.2023 and 33 species of Birds were recorded, with Rock pigeon and Black kite being the most common. Maxim Rodrigues of Mangalore University was the resource person for this Bird watch. The bird count was conducted to encourage students to connect with nature and explore its exquisite beauty. There were a total of 13 participants among which were 3 lecturers of the college.
