Karwar : Karwar City Municipal Council bagged first prize in best practices, conducted by City Managers’ Association, Karnataka (CMAK).
N. Nagaraj (MTB) Minister or Municipal Administration, Small Scale Industries presented the Award.
CMC President Dr. Nitin Pikle, Vice-President Prakash P Naik, Commissioner R P Naik, Senior Health Inspector Yakub Shaikh and other staff were present. A Trophy and a cash prize of Rs.50,000/- has been presented at the function.
Best Practice Program and Ducumentation is a Flagship Program of City Managers’ Association, Karnataka (CMAK). CMAK in association with Urban Development Department is documenting the best initiatives in the urban sector of the Karnataka.
Karwar CMC received the First Place in Best Practices Award for their initiative on “Tree Plantation by using treated UGD water” in the CMC category for the year 2021-22.
According to CMC cources, it planted 2350 trees received from 810 donors for planting trees for which 24000 ltrs of treated UGD water per day is used. Now pipeline work is under progress to use treated water for beach garden.
A “Best Practice” is a technique or methodology that, through experience and research, has proven to reliably lead to a desired result.
