Karwar : Murugesh Nirani, Minister for Industries attended the program of distribution of compensation cheques to the land owners at Mudageri industrial area of Karwar taluk whose lands have been acquired by the government, here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion MLA Roopali Naik said that former Chief Mainister B S Yediyurappa and the present Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai have provided additional compensation for the land acquired for industrial purposes in Mudageri. Rs.50 lakhs for one acre of land acquired has been paid to the land owners, she added.
Murugesh Nirani speaking on the occasion said that several industries will come up in this area, thereby the local youths will get employment.
MLA Roopali has thanked the Minister for releasing the compensation amount as the people of Mudageri and Majali village which are on the border are suffering a lot due to unemployment and poverty. Some have died waiting for the compensation, she added.
Karwar CMC President Dr. Nitin Pikle, Gram Panchayat President,Vice President , members, public and village leaders were present at the programme.
