Udupi : Kannada actor and director Rishabh Shetty was spotted with Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai on April 13.
According to several media reports, the actor and CM visited Mookambika temple in Kollur to seek blessings.
Soon after their visuals from the temple surfaced, it was speculated that he will campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of Karnataka Assembly polls.
Rishab had met the CM in March 2023 as well to submit a list of problems that might affect the people of the state who are living around the forest area. The Kantara actor also said that the CM responded to his concerns and assured an action plan.
Rishab has become a national star following the success of his film Kantara. However, he had earlier clarified that he will not join politics.
It may be noted that earlier this month, another Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeepa confirmed he would campaign for the ruling BJP.
Speculations were rife about Sudeep and fellow big screen star Darshan
Tugudeepa joining the BJP. However, the former clarified that he would
only campaign for ‘his friends’ in the BJP as opposed to joining the party and would also not contest the assembly polls.
The polling for the Karnataka Assembly is scheduled to be held on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13.
Whether CM Bommai’s new ‘bonhomie’ will work.
