Successful Heart Surgery to a 12 year old Karwar Boy at Srinivasa Hospital Mangaluru

Karwar : Successful Heart Surgery has been performed to a 12 year boy of Karwar at Srinivasa Hospital, Suratkal, Mangaluru by Dr Amit Kiran and the Hospital Team recently.
A boy from a poor family of Karwar, Mahfuj Ansari (12 years old) was suffering from heart disease and his parents approached Jamia Masjid Committee of Karwar and they informed the Philanthropist Ibrahim Kallur.
Realising the urgency of the critical case, Kallur immediately contacted the cardiothoracic surgeon of Srinivasa Medical College Dr. Amit Kiran and immediately the boy was taken to Srinivasa Hospital, Mangaluru.
According to Dr. Amit Kiran, when examination was made, it was found that there was “valvular leakage” and he said that the young boy might be suffering from this disease since 5 years. Mitral valve replacement was needed, and Dr. Amit Kiran said the Hospital has conducted the surgery at a very minimal cost.
The total cost of the surgery has been borne by Ibrahim Kallur and his team. The parents of the patient have not been charged with any amount, Dr. Amit Kiran, added.
He further said that the Surgery was very successful. It was observed that in many cases small children also suffer from such disease which requires Valve change procedures. There will not be any problem for further 15 to 20 years for this boy. Every month the patient should be brought for normal check-up. Dr. Amit Kiran thanked Ibrahim Kallur on behalf of Srinivas Hospital for his service for the poor. The boy’s parents have thanked everyone who helped for the surgery.
