Karwar : Fisheries, Ports and Inland Water Transport and District In-charge Minister Mankal Vaidya launched the long awaited, one of the five Guarantees promised by the Congress Party, “Shakti” here on Sunday. He has inaugurated the programme by lighting a lamp.
Karwar : One of the Five Guarantees promised by the Congress Party during the recent Assembly Elections “Shakti”, the scheme wherein all the women and girls of Karnataka State can travel by government bus, free of cost any where in the state, has been officially inaugurated by the Fisheries, Ports and Inland Water Transport and District In-charge Minister Mankal S Vaidya, at the bus stand complex here on sunday.
Vaidya while speaking after lighting the lamp, said that all the women in the district should avail this “free Bus ticket” scheme of the government.
The newly elected MLA of Karwar-Ankola Assembly Constituency, Satish K Sail, speaking on the occasion said that the “Shakti” scheme of the government is in the hands of the Drivers and Conductors of the state transport and he said that they will successfully run the scheme and give benefit to the women and children.
The Deputy Commissioner Prabhuling Kavalikatti, SP Vishnuvardhan N, Divisional Controller of NWKRTC K H Srinivas, Raju Tandel and other congress party works and officials were present.
