Karwar : As per the directions of the District In-charge Minister Mankal S Vaidya, to visit the whole stretch of 130 Kms. of National Highway from Majali to Bhatkal, and to submit a report of the pending works of IRB Company, the outgoing Deputy Commissioner Prabhuling Kavalikatti visited the stretch of NH 66 on July 15, with a team of officials for his assistant.
To lessen the inconvenience to the officials and minimise the expenditure, he has travelled by bus along with all the officials.
The affected villagers on the highway got the information about the DC’s visit, submitted representations with regard to IRB’s incompleted works such as providing service roads, lighting, bus stops and rain water drainage.
Later, DC had informed Press that the report will be made public.
But, according to reliable sources, Kavalikatti was advised to send the reports to the CM’s Chief Secretary for review. It was expected back on Monday, but unfortunately, orders of transfer was received on Tuesday.
