Salil Jain, an Engineer by profession and working in the field of Rehabilitation of specially challanged persons for the past 25 years.
“When I first met Mr. Aditya for his prosthetic fitment few years back, little did I know, that this would go this far. Together we have a responsibility and together we can achieve it to the entire team riding with me”.
Why am I doing this?
The Aditya Mehta Foundation is a NGO that supports physically challenged people in our nation to pursue sports and support them from the grassroot level by providing counseling, training, equipment and help them to live a life with dignity.

Pune hospital gifts artificial limb to a three-legged cow

Pune : Salil Jain, head of prosthetics and orthotics department of Sancheti Hospital accepted the task of fitting Prosthetic limb to a Cow. Salil says “fitting a prosthetic limb to a human being is very easy. But, it was a challeging task for our team. We took measurements for the leg and studied the anatomy of the cow and then prepared the leg. design for the leg.

Designing for heavy animals was more difficult. The cow is able to stand and walk slowly now.The artificial leg helped the cow walk on all her four legs”.
A three-legged cow from Chaufula near Pune has been gifted with an artificial leg. The abandoned cow was rescued by shelter home for animals in Chaufula and the villagers then approached Sancheti Hospital in Pune,.

Salil Jain conducts Paracycling events throughout the year

Lockdown did not deter Salil. He conducted the Infinity Ride 2020, started in November, from the northern state of Kashmir to the southern most part of India, Kanyakumari. Every participant enjoyed the tour and gained lot of experience by interacting with different people and culture of our country.
In the last five years the foundation has supported a surplus of 150 para athletes with prosthetic limbs, specialized sports equipment, and sponsorship. This sort of support costs anywhere in between Rs 40,000/- to Rs. 5 Lakhs per person. Many of these para athletes who seek support from the foundation have won more than 80 International medals.
