Mirror meets a successful startup entrepreneur in Beverages – Shyam Pandurang Savant

Karwar : Shyamkant Pandurang Savant popularly know as Shyam Savant a hard working person since his childhood wanted to start some business in his home land Devalamakki and give employment to the local people and also support his parents during their old age.
His father Sri. Pandurang Savant had purchased a few acres of Agricultural land on Kaiga Road, Devalamakki during his service in Military. He was working in Army EME division.After serving Army for 24 years and after retirement worked for 16 years in NPC, Kaiga.
Since child hood Shyam has been industrious and from the age of 18 years he started contract work. After completing PUC he completed a course in Electrical Engineering.
Shyam had aquired proficiency in erection and setting up of Wind Mills and for his expertise he has worked in 220 KV stations in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra states.
He also worked with Sanghvi Movers Ltd., Pune and thereafter shyam moved towards his native place and worked as Crane operator and maintenance in NPC, Kaiga for 6 years.
Shyam had an interest of starting his own Small Scale Industry and started collecting informaton about the Central Government’s Startup Schemes. “In initial stages the Editor Sri. M P Kamath who is a retired Banker and Sri. Ganesh Rane an Entrepreneurship Trainer guided me in financial requirement and Industry Set-up” Sham recollects. Sham’s father stood with him in completing the project and materialise his dreams, says Sham. “Now, our S S Beverages with “JINI” Brand Soft Drinks and Aerated Water Products have grabbed the market share. I am also proud that I could generate employment in my village, it may be a humble beginning, but in coming days I am confident that my Industry will run profitably and more employment will be generated” jubilant Shyam says.
