District Administration appeals public to follow Lockdown guidelines for self safety

Karwar : District Administration is fully prepared for the Lockdown promulgated from 6 am of 10th May 2021 to 6 am of 24th May 2021. DC Mullai Muhilan informed in a Press Conference held at his office on Sunday. For the last 24 hours 1277 COVID positive cases have been detected in the district. This shows that COVID is spreading. The present lockdown promulgated be the State government is most reasonable and he appealed to take this opportunity to break the COVID chain by following the guidelines strictly and cooperate.

List of activities that aren’t allowed during lockdown in Karnataka:
*Schools, colleges, educational/coaching institutions etc. will remain closed. Online/distance learning shall continue to be permitted and shall be encouraged.
• Hotels, restaurants, and hospitality services, except those meant for housing health/police/government officials/healthcare workers/stranded persons including tourists, quarantine facility and Step Down Hospitals.
• Hotels, restaurants and eateries shall be permitted to operate kitchens for take away/home delivery of food items only.
• No vehicles will be allowed to be used by persons for taking parcels/takeaway. Only movement by walk is allowed for this purpose. However, hotels, restaurants and eateries can use vehicles for home delivery.
• All cinema halls, shopping malls, gymnasiums, sports complexes, stadia, playgrounds, swimming pools, parks, entertainment parks, clubs, theatres, bars and auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places will remain closed.

“Vehicles will be ceased if run on roads and released only after 40 days. All the entry points of the towns will be sealed to restrict people from villagers enter the town. During 6 am to 10 am people have to come by walk” SP Shivaprakash Devaraju.

Addressing Press Conference at DC’s office on sunday, SP Shivapraksh Devaraju appealed the public to follow the guidelines very strictly.
He further said that necessary arrangements have been made to supply Grocery, Dry fruits, Vegetables and other necessary food grains at the houses.
19 Inter District Check posts have been set up to monitor the movement of Vehicles and people. Vehicles can be used for emergency medical purposes or Marriages with the permission from the Tahsildars.
