Karwar : A full-fledged 20 Bedded Hospital will be set-up at Shirwad near here to combat anticipated COVID Third Wave. The former MLA Satish Sail said in a Press Meet held here recently. It is predicted by the Medical Experts that shortly COVID Third Wave may hit India which may infect mainly children. In order to take precautionary measures his family trust in the name of his mother Girijabai Memorial Trust and the Supreme Court senior Advocate Devdatt S Kamat have jointly decided to set-up a 20 Bedded Hospital at Maria Magno Flora Hospital and Research Centre, Puneet Sadan Campus, Shirwad. The director of the Hospital has submitted a letter to DC for granting, permission, Sail said.
Since the third wave is predicted to be infected to children, arrangements will be made to provide an extra bed for the mother of the child to take care.
Each bed will be provided with Oxygen Concentrator and hygienic food will be provided to all inmates. The rooms will be provided with Television and the inmates can do Yoga or exercise in the open garden developed by the Hospital. Satish Sail appreciated the service rendered by Samson D’souza during COVID second wave. Any persons near to the hospital who are unable to remain under home isolation can also take benefit of this COVID Centre.
While welcoming the announcement made by the PM to provide free vaccines to the states, Sail said that PM can take a magnanimous decision to provide free vaccines to private hospitals also. His Trust and Devdatt Kamat are planning to raise funds through donors and CSR activity to procure vaccines for free distribution, he added. Shambhu Shetty and Sanjay Salunke were present.
