Covid third wave preparation is underway to safeguard Children – ZP CEO Priyanga M

Karwar : Covid third wave is anticipated in India which will mainly infect Children, therefore to safeguard children all type of preparations have been made in entire Uttara Kannada district.
Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat Priyanga M said in a Press Conference arranged at the ZP office here recently.
Steps are being taken to give nutritious food and supplements to improve immunity in children. Health survey and monitoring is also being done at rural areas through Anganwadi and Asha workers, she said.
Primary Health Centres will conduct health check-up of all children in the villages.
In every taluka 25 bedded special hospitals having facilities of Ventillators and toilets will be set-up, Priyanga said.
In Uttara Kannada district there are 1.06 lakh children under six years of age in which there are 4402 undernourished children whereas 184 children are most undernourished , she added.
During 2021, 151 children under 18 years of age have been infected with COVID in the district and they have been treated at home, Priyanga said.
