Vanishing Heritage Buildings of Karwar – Govt. High School

Karwar : Karwaris are worried about the recent developments that the only Heritage building of Karwar “Government High School Building” also will be demolished and a new school complex will be constructed on the debris of this ‘Heritage Edifice’.
Karwar was said to be ‘Pensioners’ Paradise’ due to its beauty of open beach without any pollution, lush green trees on ‘Green Street’ and on Railway Station road. But, now we can see a contrete jungle everywhere. Trees on Green Street have been cut. Now recently all the trees on Railway Station road have been cut for the reason of widening the road.
In Karwar there were a few Heritage buildings viz; Old DC’s Office, Govt. High School, Arts and Science college etc. Old DC’s office has been demolished.
