Auto-rickshaw Driver beaten who gave News-bite

Karwar : It is obvious that durng elections, media and Press reporters move around the constituency to gather the pulse of a common man and public. On March 18, a News Channel approached auto driver Manju Poojari who was standing in the queue at Subhash Circle Auto Stand and asked his opinion about the chances of getting party ticket for the sitting MLA. He has not given any positive opinion about the sitting MLA.

This video clip went viral and the MLA’s followers beaten him.
Manju Poojari later filed a complaint with Karwar City Police Station and a FIR has been registered on April 1. Following names have been mentioned in the FIR. 1. Santosh Naik, Karwar, 2.Dileep Argekar, Karwar, 3. Roshan Harikantra, Karwar and 4. Santosh Gunagi.
Crime. No.35/2023 under Section 323 – Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, 342 – Punishment for wrongful confinement, 504 – Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, 506 – Punishment for criminal intimidation and 34 – Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention have been registered in the FIR.
Congress Spokes person Shambhu Shetty and Janashakti Vedike’s Madhav Nayak condemned this inhuman attack on a poor Auto driver.
