Karwar : Deputy Commissioner Prabhuling Kavalikatti said that the district officials should work actively to benefit as many children and women as possible in the Mining Affected Areas of Uttara Kannada district.
He was addressing a meeting of the Mineral Foundation Trust Management Committee organised in the court hall of the DC’s office here on Thursday.
Senior Mines and Geology Officer Asha MS informed the DC that 60% of the grant under the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) scheme in the district has been spent on drinking water, environment protection, health care, education, women and children welfare, skills for the disabled, sanitation, skill development, etc.
