Karwar : Though Karwar is a small city Bharat has lot of confidence that one day or the other the city will reach International standards and it will be sited in the Tourism Map of the world.
Bharat Mohan Shet is an Engineer in Industrial Production, searching for a job but he was not knowing that his destiny was in Hotel Business. He recollects Sri. Vittal Kamat,Chairman of Asia’s first Ecotel hotel “The Orchid”, who was the close friend of his Grand father Sri. Srinivas Nilavar founder of Amrut Hotel in Karwar. His grand father introduced Sri. Vithal Kamat and since then he started following his way of Hotel Business, recollects Bharat.
Later Bharat joined his maternal uncles Nandan Nilavar and Chetan Nilavar and started learning Hotel Business. He wanted to change the age old tradition of Hotel Business where the owner himself was sitting on the cash counter, worrying about pilferages. In this process they could not interact with customers and generate employment. “I have introduced computerised system by giving employment to several youngsters” Bharat says.
In 2001, Bharat wanted to venture in Hotel and Hospitality Business and started Hotel Amrut Aura. He strived hard during the process of construction that spacious rooms are constructed with full of ambiance.
He gives a few tips to the youngsters who want to start Hotel Business that one should learn how to interact with the clints.
Now, Bharat has proposed to the Government through District In-Charge Minister, MP, MLA and the District Administration to start a Government College of Hotel and Hospitality Management in Karwar. To start wilh he is suggesting to start from the Government Arts and Science College where there is lot of space for the same.
Now, Bharat is working on developing a comprehensive planfor Karwar under Tourism Sector which will include a 10- to 20-year strategic vision, strategy, and action plan for developing tourism in a sustainable manner for the benefit of local residents, investors, and tourism operators.
Bharat wants to see Karwar as the “Hub of Tourism” in our entire country and he is appealing the young talents of Karwar to come forward and work for developing our Beautiful City.
